Everything went well when I updated to Genesis 2.2.0 beta1. The other day I tested out Genesis 2.2.0 beta2 on my local development environment and then my live staging environment. All went well, so I updated here. Working just great! Everything is getting along nicely. FYI, in order to be able to update to beta versions of Genesis, I have been using the Genesis Beta Tester plugin. To download it, please click here.
Remember, however, that my website set up will most probably be differing from yours. We probably won’t be using the same plugins. We might not even be using the same version of WordPress! If you are a WordPress developer, I probably don’t have to tell you what to do or not to do. If you are just a WordPress user with no development experience, I would NOT suggest updating to beta versions of Genesis!
Note: Just because I have updated to a beta version of Genesis on one of my live production sites doesn’t mean that you have to. Check it out in your local development environment. If you have a live staging environment, then check it out there as well. If you happen to have a personal website where you want to see what it’s like live, then go for it. But PLEASE don’t update it on a client’s website! Wait until the stable release, and then still test it out in the local development environment you use for your client’s website before updating on their live production site.
